Quantum Capital Group announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell the majority of Cogentrix Energy’s natural gas power generation assets to Vistra Corp. for a total consideration of $4.7bn. The transaction, covering approximately 90% of Cogentrix’s portfolio, excludes the Cedar Bayou 4 plant in Baytown, Texas, which has a capacity of 550 megawatts and will remain under Quantum’s ownership.
