Q ENERGY France, a renewable energy developer active for more than 25 years, and Fermes d'Avenir, an association within the Groupe SOS network, have signed a national framework agreement to combine energy project development with support for agricultural transition. The agreement, concluded by Guillaume Guemard, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Q ENERGY France, and Marion Enzer, Chief Executive Officer of Fermes d'Avenir, establishes a long-term partnership to support new farmer installations and the conversion of farms to agroecological models. Similar to other sector initiatives combining industrial ambition with territorial roots, such as ENGIE's deployment of a 900 MW onshore wind farm in Egypt, the agreement illustrates the capacity of renewable developers to embed their projects within broader local dynamics. The partnership targets territories with a strong agricultural component where Q ENERGY France is already active.

A First Initiative in the Vienne and Deux-Sèvres Departments

A first project is being launched in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, in the Vienne and Deux-Sèvres departments, where Q ENERGY France operates or develops several renewable energy projects. In these two departments, Fermes d'Avenir will support agricultural project holders for two years through a tailored program covering technical, economic, organizational, and human dimensions. The initiative targets farmers in the process of establishing themselves or transitioning toward resilient agroecological models. The stated objective is to create economically viable farms that benefit the rural territories involved.

Fermes d'Avenir has been working since 2013 to promote farming that remunerates farmers within planetary boundaries, according to its statutes. The association will contribute its expertise to support the creation or transition of agroecological farms, from preliminary studies through to operational launch. The models developed under this partnership aim at a combination of agronomic resilience and economic viability, the association indicates. Fermes d'Avenir is a member of Groupe SOS, a social economy group active across multiple sectors.

Q ENERGY France: 300 Employees and a Holding Founded by Hanwha Solutions

Q ENERGY France employs nearly 300 people and operates from seven offices across France, including its headquarters in Avignon. The company is a subsidiary of QENERGY Solutions, a European holding company created in 2021 in Berlin by Hanwha Solutions, a South Korean group active in renewable energy. Beyond wind and photovoltaic, the company has expanded into energy storage and green hydrogen development. In a sector where major partnerships are multiplying — such as the 240 MW solar contract signed by Carrefour Brasil with Casa dos Ventos — Q ENERGY France is anchoring its strategy in rural territorial dynamics.

Guillaume Guemard states that the partnership "is part of Q ENERGY France's territorial DNA", referring to its long-standing presence in rural areas. Marion Enzer emphasizes that the two organizations share the conviction that agricultural transition must be conducted "as close to the field as possible". The framework agreement specifies neither a financial commitment nor a quantified target for the number of farms to be supported.
