OneD Battery Sciences and Shanghai Putailai New Energy Technology have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) to finalize the design and produce large quantities of silicon-carbon anode materials for lithium-ion batteries. This agreement combines OneD’s SINANODE technology with Putailai’s production capabilities.
Objectives of the Development Agreement
This partnership aims to accelerate the large-scale production of low-cost anode materials while leveraging OneD’s technology to integrate silicon into lithium-ion batteries. Silicon helps increase the energy density of batteries, a key factor for energy efficiency.
Commercial Model and Distribution
Both companies are also committed to establishing a commercial model that ensures widespread distribution of the products. This will be made possible by leveraging Putailai’s manufacturing capacity, which enables them to meet the global demand for higher-performing batteries.
Optimization of Anode Materials
The project also includes optimizing the performance of materials by combining Putailai’s carbon substrates with OneD’s process technology. This collaboration aims to provide battery manufacturers with higher-performing products while reducing production costs.
