Mozambique: Eni Launches Hull of $7.2 Billion Coral Norte Gas Project
The hull of the Coral Norte floating unit has been launched in South Korea. This $7.2 billion gas project led by Eni in Mozambique targets a capacity of 3.55 MTPA of LNG by 2028.

The consortium led by Eni has reached a new milestone in the development of the Coral Norte project in Mozambique. The hull of the floating production and liquefaction unit was launched on January 16, 2026, at Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Korea. This operation marks the first floatation of the main structure, prior to the integration of production and liquefaction equipment. The project, validated by a final investment decision (FID) on October 2, 2025, represents an investment of $7.2 billion.
