IAEA Mission Evaluates Rwanda's Nuclear Infrastructure Progress Toward SMR Program
A 10-member IAEA mission evaluated Rwanda's nuclear readiness in March as the country targets nuclear power for 60 to 70% of its energy mix, with small modular reactors at the heart of the project.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted a 10-member Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review mission in Rwanda during the first week of March. The country, which has no operational nuclear reactors, aims for nuclear power to account for 60 to 70% of its energy mix in the coming decades. The delegation included experts from Egypt, Estonia, Kenya and Pakistan, alongside agency staff.
