Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), the Korea Export-Import Bank (Korea Eximbank) and Manila Electric Company (Meralco) signed on Wednesday a memorandum of understanding in Manila to develop civil nuclear energy in the Philippines. The ceremony took place during a state visit by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and brought together South Korean Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong-kwan and Philippine Secretary of Trade and Industry Maria Roque. This KHNP-Philippines nuclear agreement builds on KHNP's expertise in reactor construction, Korea Eximbank's financing capabilities and Meralco's experience in the Philippine electricity sector.
