Framatome has announced the installation and commissioning of the first digital safety protection relays in a U.S. nuclear reactor. These devices, developed in partnership with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), a specialist in electrical protection, automation and control of electrical systems, are designed to secure the electrical distribution systems and vital equipment of nuclear power plants. The achievement represents a step forward in the modernization of the North American nuclear fleet.
