Egypt and Qatar have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply, setting a framework for bilateral cooperation amid tightening national energy capacity. The agreement, formalised in early January, includes provisions for up to 24 Qatari LNG cargoes aimed at meeting peak electricity consumption during the summer months. This initiative comes as electricity demand in Egypt remains high, particularly during extreme heat periods.
