Aalo Atomics has signed two industrial agreements for its Aalo-X experimental nuclear reactor, currently under construction at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). The Texas-based startup has contracted with Global Nuclear Fuel (GNF) for the manufacturing of low-enriched uranium (LEU) fuel rods, and with Baker Hughes for the supply of a 10 MWe steam turbogenerator set. Both deliveries target 2026, with the goal of achieving Aalo-X criticality on July 4, 2026 — the deadline set by the U.S. Department of Energy (DoE) under an accelerated testing program for advanced reactors announced in June 2025.
