The French subsidiary of German group WindStrom, which claims over 470 turbines installed across Europe, has filed a lawsuit with the Saintes court to obtain easement rights or compensation. The Chênaies Hautes wind farm, approved by prefectural decree on October 18, 2019, was to be built across three municipalities near La Rochelle, including Puyrolland. This municipality of 200 residents refuses to grant the road permits required to transport the seven turbines, which stand 180 meters tall at blade tip. A procedural hearing was held Wednesday, without addressing the merits of the case.
