Voltalia (Euronext Paris, ISIN code: FR0011995588), a specialist in renewable energy, announced the sale of its La Faye wind farm to the Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR), a key player in France’s energy transition. This transaction aligns with Voltalia’s strategy to optimize its portfolio of assets.
Located in the municipalities of La Faye and Chèvrerie, in Nord Charente, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, the wind farm has a capacity of 12 megawatts (MW), distributed across six 2 MW turbines. Commissioned in July 2010, the site’s initial electricity sales contract is nearing its end, making this sale particularly timely.
Technical management ensured by Greensolver
As part of this agreement, Voltalia will continue to provide technical management services for the wind farm through its subsidiary Greensolver. This subsidiary, recognized among the asset managers qualified by CNR, will oversee the site’s maintenance and operation. This partnership highlights Voltalia’s commitment to optimizing installations even after their sale.
A strategy aligned with contract renewal
Sébastien Clerc, CEO of Voltalia, emphasized that this sale helps extend the average residual duration of the company’s long-term electricity sales contracts. It also reflects a global strategy to focus on larger and more profitable projects.
A strategic partnership with CNR
The Compagnie Nationale du Rhône, known for its role in France’s energy transition, strengthens its renewable energy portfolio with this acquisition. This collaboration between Voltalia and CNR demonstrates synergy in the management and operation of renewable energy sources.
This operation underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in the renewable energy sector, allowing each party to focus on their strengths while supporting energy transition goals.
