Volkswagen Launches First Stationary Battery Storage System at Salzgitter
Volkswagen's Elli subsidiary has connected a 20 MW and 40 MWh system to the grid in Salzgitter, marking the automotive group's first large-scale deployment in stationary battery storage.

Volkswagen has reached a new milestone in its energy diversification strategy. Its Elli subsidiary, specialized in charging solutions for electric vehicles, has connected to the grid the "Elli PowerCenter" system in Salzgitter, Germany. With a power output of 20 megawatts (MW) and a capacity of 40 megawatthours (MWh), the installation represents Volkswagen Group's first large-scale stationary battery storage infrastructure.
