TotalEnergies launches first French plastic chemical recycling plant at Grandpuits
TotalEnergies has commissioned the first French chemical plastic recycling unit at its Grandpuits platform in Seine-et-Marne. With an annual capacity of 15,000 tonnes, the facility transforms household waste into synthetic oil.

TotalEnergies has started up its first French chemical plastic recycling unit at its Grandpuits platform in Seine-et-Marne. The facility, with an annual capacity of 15,000 tonnes, marks a new step in the conversion of the former refinery into what the group refers to as a "zero-oil platform". The technology is based on pyrolysis, a process that involves heating plastic waste at high temperature without oxygen and under pressure.
