Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) announced the postponement of the restart of its Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear power plant, originally scheduled for January 20. The Japanese utility cites an alarm system malfunction that occurred over the weekend. This restart would have been TEPCO’s first since the 2011 tsunami destroyed the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant.
