State Grid Activates 89 km 500 kV Network in Jiangsu
China’s Jiangsu Province sees its first major energy project of 2026 enter service. This 500 kV transmission network is expected to deliver approximately 10 billion kWh annually and strengthen coastal renewable energy integration.

State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power commissioned a 500 kV power transmission project in Jiangsu Province on January 13. This network, connected to the SPIC Binhai 2×1000 MW expansion, represents the province’s first major operational energy project in 2026. According to the company, the infrastructure is expected to deliver approximately 10 billion kilowatt-hours annually, equivalent to the yearly consumption of about four million households.
