Sonatrach and GNPC Sign R&D Partnership to Accelerate Oil Innovation in Africa
The Algerian and Ghanaian national companies formalize a research and development cooperation under the auspices of APPO. The agreement covers advanced seismic technologies, enhanced recovery and low-carbon solutions.

Sonatrach, Algeria’s national oil company, and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo. This MoU formalizes a partnership focused on research, development and innovation in the oil and gas sector. The agreement was concluded under the auspices of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), headquartered in the Congolese capital. Farid Ghezali, recently appointed Secretary General of the organization, facilitated negotiations between the two parties.
