Serengeti Energy Secures $26.5M for 32 MWp Solar Plant in Zambia
Developer Serengeti Energy and Kwama Energy have finalized financing for the Ilute photovoltaic plant in Zambia. This 32 MWp project relies on a merchant model without sovereign guarantee, a structure still rare in sub-Saharan Africa.

Serengeti Energy, a renewable energy project developer, announced the financial close for the Ilute solar plant, located near Sesheke in Zambia’s Western Province. This 32 MWp photovoltaic facility is being developed in partnership with Kwama Energy. The transaction enables the start of construction works on site.
