Iraq is seeking to resume a portion of its oil exports through Turkey following a halt caused by Middle East hostilities. Baghdad aims to transport 250,000 barrels of oil daily (b/d) via the Kirkuk-Ceyhan pipeline, representing a fraction of the roughly 3.5 million b/d that this founding member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) exported before the conflict. At stake is significant for a country deriving more than 90% of its revenue from crude oil.
