Hamburg Summit Targets 300 GW of Offshore Wind in the North Sea by 2050
European leaders are meeting Monday in Germany to discuss their energy cooperation in the North Sea. American ambitions for Greenland and Russian threats are entering the debates.

The North Sea International Summit is being held in Hamburg for its third edition. This forum, created in the wake of the war in Ukraine, aims to reduce European energy dependence on Russia. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, representatives from Iceland, the European Commission and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are participating in this meeting. The heads of government of Norway, the Netherlands, Ireland, Belgium and Luxembourg have confirmed their attendance, alongside the French Minister of Economy and his British counterpart.
