The United Kingdom will join a vast offshore wind development program alongside eight European countries, including Norway, Germany and the Netherlands. British Energy Secretary Ed Miliband is set to sign a declaration at a summit in Hamburg, committing the parties to complete the project by 2050. This initiative marks a first: some wind farms will be directly connected to multiple countries via undersea cables known as interconnectors.
