China has officially started construction of two new CAP1000 nuclear reactors at the Bailong site in the Guangxi Autonomous Region and the Lufeng site in Guangdong Province. Concrete pouring for the nuclear islands of unit 1 at Bailong and unit 2 at Lufeng was completed in December, marking a significant step in the expansion of China’s nuclear fleet.
