The first reactor of the Kursk II nuclear power plant in Russia has been connected to the national power grid and reached a capacity of 240 megawatts (MW) on December 31. This milestone marks the operational launch of the new VVER-TOI reactor, an advanced version of Russia’s pressurised water reactor technology.
