Global offshore wind reaches 100 GW, China and UK lead
Global offshore wind capacity is expected to exceed 100 GW this year, according to a RenewableUK report. China and the UK accounted for 84% of the capacity added over the past twelve months.

Global offshore wind energy capacity stands at 89.2 GW, compared to 82.5 GW twelve months ago, representing an 8% increase over the period, according to RenewableUK's EnergyPulse Insights report. The sector now has 374 operational offshore farms worldwide, up from 347 a year earlier. This trajectory positions the industry on track to exceed 100 GW of operational capacity during the course of this year.
