Eni Launches Appraisal Drilling on Offshore Calao Discovery in Ivory Coast

Italian oil and gas group Eni has begun appraisal drilling on the offshore Calao structure, located off the coast of Ivory Coast. According to Upstream Online, operations started with the deployment of a specialized deepwater drilling vessel. This marks the first appraisal drilling conducted on this field since its discovery in 2024. Neither Eni nor Ivorian authorities have disclosed details on the duration or technical parameters of the operations.
