Cuba suffered a total blackout of its national electrical system on Monday, the sixth since October 2024. The Cuban Electric Union (UNE), which reports to the Ministry of Energy, announced on X that "recovery protocols are beginning to be implemented." This blackout occurs amid a deep energy crisis, as the island faces unprecedented economic and geopolitical pressure in decades.
