ContourGlobal has inaugurated a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of 202 MW and 500 MWh in the Stara Zagora region of Bulgaria. The installation, presented as one of the largest in Eastern Europe, now operates on a stand-alone basis. According to the company, the site actively participates in the country’s day-ahead and intraday electricity markets.
