President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema appointed Clotaire Kondja as Minister of Oil and Gas in a cabinet reshuffle enacted by presidential decree on January 1. The move signals a strategic shift for Gabon’s extractive sector amid broader economic and fiscal transitions. Kondja replaces Sosthène Nguema Nguema, who had held the post since May 2025 and is now assigned to the Ministry of Mines.
