China inaugurates the second nuclear reactor at the Zhangzhou power plant
Unit 2 of the Zhangzhou nuclear power plant, in Fujian province, has officially begun commercial operation after successfully completing all commissioning tests.

China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) announced the commercial operation start-up of the second Hualong One (HPR1000) reactor at the Zhangzhou nuclear power plant. This pressurised water reactor, with a net capacity of 1,126 megawatts electric (MWe), becomes the second unit to be inaugurated out of a total of six planned at this site in south-eastern China.
