Chevron is expected to receive an expanded license from the U.S. government this week for its operations in Venezuela, according to three oil industry sources cited by Reuters. This authorization would allow the group to increase its production and exports from the South American country. The California-based major remains currently the only American oil producer authorized to extract and export Venezuelan crude, thanks to an exemption from sanctions imposed on the country.
