Carlyle Sells Colombian Oil Producer SierraCol to Prime Infrastructure for $1.5 Billion
U.S. private equity firm Carlyle announced the sale of SierraCol, its Colombian oil producer, to Prime Infrastructure Capital for $1.5 billion. The asset accounts for roughly 10% of Colombia's national oil production.

Carlyle announced Wednesday the sale of SierraCol, its Colombian oil producer, to Prime Infrastructure Capital, the infrastructure division of the group controlled by Philippine businessman Enrique K. Jr. The transaction is valued at $1.5 billion. The U.S. fund had built up this asset following the acquisition of assets from Occidental Petroleum in 2020, injecting $1 billion into the company since then, primarily on existing assets.
