Voltalia has announced the signing of two new Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts for photovoltaic plants in Ireland. The agreement covers two sites: Carriglong, with a capacity of 43.7 megawatts, and Clashwilliam, with 49.2 megawatts, both awarded by the public company Electricity Supply Board (ESB). These projects are part of the ongoing collaboration initiated between Voltalia and ESB in 2023.

Irish market: recurring orders and growing volumes

Voltalia’s portfolio in Ireland has expanded significantly over recent years. Since the summer of 2024, the company has been assigned the development of more than 600 megawatts of electrical capacity in the country, in addition to the 365 megawatts already commissioned since 2022. Previous contracts include the construction of the Timahoe North solar park (108 megawatts) for the ESB-Bord na Móna joint venture, as well as the Middleton House project (75 megawatts).

The simultaneous award of the two new EPC contracts highlights the current momentum in the Irish photovoltaic sector. Voltalia’s turnkey EPC model calls for the delivery of fully equipped sites, ready for commercial operation in line with the contractual schedules set with ESB.

Capacity strengthening and implementation timeline

The official confirmation of these new agreements comes as Voltalia plans to update its roadmap during the publication of its half-year results and the presentation of the transformation areas of the SPRING plan. No financial details have been disclosed at this stage regarding the total investment amount or contractual allocation.

The rapid progress of EPC projects awarded in the Irish market reflects a trend towards the industrial-scale massification of contracts for photovoltaic capacity construction. According to the published timetable, a presentation meeting for investors and analysts is scheduled for 4 September 2025.
