Telegraphe Wind Farm: EDF Renewables launches a Campaign for Participatory Financing
The Télégraphe wind farm, in Vermenton in the Yonne region, is the beginning of citizen investment in renewable energy. Indeed, EDF Renewables announced this Tuesday, January 5, the opening of a participatory financing for the construction of the park of 14.4 MW.
Telegraphe wind farm, a citizen investment
A participatory financing campaign from January 5 to February 15, 2021
The wind farm, worth €200,000, will allow the local population to invest in the department’s energy policy. The Lendosphere platform is hosting this participatory financing campaign scheduled from January 5 to February 15, 2021.
While under construction since January, the wind farm is scheduled to be commissioned in April 2021. The participatory campaign will only finance a part of the construction of the park. But thanks to it, citizens become actors of the Telegraph wind farm and of the energy transition of the Region.
Telegraphe wind farm, the local energy transition
A project to support the territories of 36GWh per year
For EDF Renewables, it is a matter of supporting the territories in their ambitions in the long term. Also, to carry out projects that respect the environment while generating economic benefits at the local level. Indeed, from its commissioning in April 2021, the park will produce 36 GWh annually. This corresponds to the average annual electricity consumption of approximately 14,500 people, or nearly 95% of the population of the CC of Chablis, Villages et Terroirs. According to Jennifer Ménagé, regional manager for Burgundy Franche-Comté at EDF Renewables:
Thus, the Telegraphe wind farm will allow its beneficiaries to get involved in the development of a local project favourable to the energy transition, while benefiting from the financial income generated by the project. Since the launch of Lendosphere in December 2014, more than €80 million has already been invested by individuals on 230 renewable energy projects, promising figures for the future of the project.
