Next Hydrogen Solutions Inc. has commissioned a clean hydrogen refuelling station, described as the largest of its kind in Ontario. The station is located at a major distribution centre and has been designed to produce up to 650 kg of hydrogen per day, mainly to support fuel cell forklift operations.
Industrial deployment and advanced technology
The electrolyser commissioned by Next Hydrogen Solutions Inc. is based on an in-house developed cell architecture, with a fully integrated balance of plant design including hydrogen compressors and dispensers. The company also provides operational supervision of the system from the start of production. This oversight will continue until the complete handover of management to the end customer.
This project represents a step forward in the development of refuelling infrastructure for the logistics industry in Ontario, with a capacity that places the station among the largest onsite clean hydrogen production units in Canada. According to the company, the technology was validated through a factory acceptance test, followed by full-scale implementation at the client site.
Growth targets and process industrialisation
The commissioning of this facility addresses the growing demand for hydrogen refuelling solutions for intensive industrial uses. The electrolysis technology developed by Next Hydrogen Solutions Inc. aims to reduce the cost of green hydrogen production, enabling direct integration within logistics platforms.
The company plans to continue supporting station operations while advancing the industrialisation of its second-generation electrolyser. Raveel Afzaal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Next Hydrogen Solutions Inc., stated that the completion of this project represents a significant step forward for the sector, paving the way for large-scale, cost-effective green hydrogen production. The inauguration of this station forms part of an ongoing trend towards industrial adoption of clean hydrogen in Canada.
