Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has recently commissioned a 250 megawatt (MW) solar power plant located at Bhimsar and Dwada in the Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. This project was developed through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Adani Green Energy Twenty Four Limited (AGE24L). With this new addition, AGEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity now stands at 11,916.1 MW.

Project Development

The solar plant began operations after receiving the necessary clearances. The plant was commissioned on February 21, 2025, and power generation officially began on February 22, 2025. This project is part of AGEL’s strategy to strengthen its presence in India’s renewable energy sector.

Ongoing Expansion

In December 2024, AGEL further expanded its portfolio by setting up Adani Green Energy Sixty Eight Limited, a subsidiary dedicated to developing clean energy projects, particularly in the wind and solar sectors. This initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to support India’s energy transition to sustainable sources.

Regional Context

Rajasthan, with its abundant sunshine, has become a central hub for solar projects in India. AGEL’s investment in this region underscores the strategic importance of the state in the country’s renewable energy landscape.

Future Outlook

AGEL continues to strengthen its position as a major player in India’s renewable energy sector, contributing actively to the country’s clean energy goals. The commissioning of this new solar power plant highlights the company’s commitment to increasing the nation’s renewable energy capacity.
