Petro-Victory Energy Corp. (TSXV: VRY) announced on July 9, 2025, the successful conclusion of drilling operations for the AND-5 well, located in the Andorinha field, Potiguar Basin, Rio Grande do Norte state, Brazil. The operation was conducted in partnership with Azevedo & Travassos Energia (ATE). Drilling, which began on June 25, reached a total depth of 1,165 meters on July 5, passing through sedimentary rock layers and basement rock.
The drilling operation utilised the Drake-2 onshore hydraulic rig, with wireline logging services provided by Halliburton. After reaching the target depth, a 7-inch nominal production casing was installed.
Reservoir analysis and outlook
Initial petrophysical analyses revealed 13 meters of net pay across four oil-bearing intervals. These results were obtained by applying a salinity cut-off of 3,500 ppm. This preliminary identification of productive zones confirmed the potential for production in the field, with a subsequent phase of detailed logging data analysis planned.
Next steps
The company plans to mobilise an onshore completion rig to acquire special saturation logs for a more accurate characterisation of the productive intervals. This phase will be followed by well testing and completion operations before tying the well into the Andorinha Collection Station. Petro-Victory continues to evaluate the data to optimise the next steps and maximise the profitability of the operation.
